Drexel Dance Marathon (DragonTHON) is a year-long fundraising initiative that benefits Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Our organization aims to unite the entirety of Drexel University campus for a common cause and raise awareness and support local CHOP patients and their families.
Children's Miracle Network Dance Marathons
Children's Miracle Network Dance Marathons were founded by Indiana University in 1991 in memory of Ryan White, who was a student who sadly passed away from HIV/AIDS. The movement now raises funds for children spread across 170 Children's Hospitals, supporting 10 million children each year. With the help of donations, children receive critical healthcare services, as well as child life services to help cope with difficult days in the hospital.

All About DragonTHON
Why We Exist
DragonTHON is the Dance Marathon organization for Drexel University, founded in 2020. DragonTHON raises funds for our Miracle Network Hospital, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), for the Child Life department. The Child Life department is a fundamental part of pediatric care, supporting children and families by improving their quality of life during treatment. The Child Life department provides children and families with opportunities to cope with their unique experiences in pediatric care, engage in normal day to day activities, and prepare for time in treatment and life after treatment. DragonTHON Events
As part of our fundraising efforts, DragonTHON hosts many small events throughout the year, leading up to our Main Event in the Spring Term. Some of our events include music bingo, PJ parties with Miracle Kids, bake sales, local fundraisers, and more! The Main Event is on May 10th, 12-6pm in Berakis Hall at Drexel University! This is a celebration of our year long fundraising efforts with raffles, miracle kid stories, line dances, games, and more!
